Individual Counseling
Students can be referred to the school counselor for individual, short term counseling services. Referrals can be made by teachers, parents, concerned adults or student self-referrals. The K-4 school counseling program is an educational support service. The counselors use skills and methods that are based on educational, teaching philosophies and are not intended to be perceived as therapy or psychology. If students are in need of more extensive or intensive services than those provided by the school, the counselor will refer them to a community agency that offers mental health interventions. For more information regarding individual counseling services provided at your child's school please contact the school counselor assigned to your child's school building. |
